All five branches of the military — Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy — have been invited to participate in the inaugural Festival D’Avion and are expected to provide unique aircraft displays with hands-on tours and information services.
The 2018 Festival D’Avion presented by Pinehurst Resort & Country Club – a celebration of freedom and flight – will help commemorate the 100th anniversary of Fort Bragg at its VIP Hangar Reception on Friday, April 27 at the Moore County Airport.
More than a dozen high-ranking military officials and dignitaries from the nation’s largest Army base will be in attendance to help kick off the inaugural festival of military might and vintage aircraft, and to help honor the base’s centennial.
A limited amount of tickets are on sale to the general public for this special evening at www.festivaldavion.com.
The hangar reception from 6-8 p.m. will consist of North Carolina-themed hors d’oeuvres, such as shrimp and grits and beverage offerings, special military displays, a jump by the Children of Fallen Heroes Skydiving Angels, aircraft and vintage showcase car staging — even a 100th birthday caked prepared by the Fort Bragg culinary team.
“We are humbled and honored that Fort Bragg would include the inaugural Festival D’Avion as part of its year-long centennial celebrations,” said Festival D’Avion co-founder David Droschak. “Fort Bragg has long been a sense of pride for those of us in the Sandhills and across the state of North Carolina.”
The Festival D’Avion is offering a special Military “Family Four-Pack” Ticket Package that costs all active and retired military families just $10. Those special military tickets must be purchased online at www.festivaldavion.com.
